Google Unveils Genie 4, the Next Generation of Its World Model
Google DeepMind released Genie 4, a world model that generates interactive environments in real time with synchronized audio, improved physics, and prompt-driven scene control.
Google DeepMind introduced Genie 4, the next generation of its world model. The previous version appeared more than a year ago, in August 2025. The new model focuses on realism, multimodality, improved physics, and interactivity.
The model generates a world in real time and with sound at the same time. Music, ambient noise, and even character dialogue are produced together with the visuals, while lines adapt to user actions.
The scene can be changed and directed through prompts on the fly. For example, users can alter the weather or add characters and objects.
Several Gemini models run inside the system. Gemini Omni handles the realistic appearance and behavior of the world, other models maintain simulation coherence, and Gemini 3.8 Flash acts separately as an agent in a loop — essentially the “brain”: it breaks a goal into steps, checks their execution, and replans if the user wants to change something.
Google says such environments can be used to test robots and AI agents. The company even showed a demo in which Apptronik’s Apollo humanoid plays checkers inside a generated world.
Why it matters
AnalysisGenie 4 shows how world models can become dynamic sandboxes for training agents and robots, while real-time multimodal generation may accelerate interactive simulation and embodied AI development.
