Remote Control Updates in Claude Code

Executive TL;DR30s read

Claude Code has received significant updates to its Remote Control feature, allowing users to launch sessions from mobile devices and improving synchronization between them.

Remote Control Updates in Claude Code

Now sessions can be launched directly from your smartphone. If claude remote-control is running on your computer, it will appear as a device card at the top of the Code tab. Just click on it, select a folder — and Claude Code will start on that computer.

Synchronization between the phone and computer has also been improved. If you continue a session on your PC, it will remain active on your smartphone and will not automatically go to the archive. After finishing, the "offline" status appears within a few seconds.

In case of a connection drop, Remote Control now automatically reconnects. For example, if you close your laptop or switch to another Wi-Fi network.

The model and effort level are now synchronized between the smartphone and command line, and heavy sessions on iOS open faster.

Commands with / on the phone have also been improved:

  • /clear resets the display
  • /compact shows context compression markers
  • /diff opens a built-in window with changes
