The startup Anthropic has launched the "Claude for Open Source" program, allowing open-source developers to receive six months of free access to the most powerful plan.
Participation Conditions
The conditions for participation are quite simple, and anyone connected to open source can take advantage of this opportunity:
- Library author or maintainer: 500+ dependent repositories, 100+ dependent packages, or 200,000+ total downloads per month in any registry.
- Official committer or maintainer of a large project (e.g., CPython, Rust, Kubernetes, Linux, etc.).
- Active contributor: over the past year, you have had 100+ accepted PRs in other repositories.
- Creating projects that the community contributes to: over the past year, your repository has accepted 20+ PRs from unique external contributors.
- Supporting critical infrastructure: one of your repositories has an OpenSSF Criticality Score of 0.4 or higher.
If you do not meet these criteria but are doing something useful for the community, Anthropic still encourages you to apply.
