Unitree releases action video with humanoid bodyguard robot
Unitree showcased its H2-X humanoid robot, branded Kung Fu Legend Guardian, in a promotional action clip featuring car-door bending, somersaults, jumps and rescue stunts.
Unitree has released an action-style video featuring a humanoid robot presented as a bodyguard.
The H2-X, named Kung Fu Legend Guardian in the clip, is shown bending car doors, doing a somersault, jumping from a four-meter platform, rescuing people and lifting vehicles.
Unitree claims up to about eight hours of maximum autonomy, but does not specify the workload under which that figure applies. It is also unclear how much of the robot’s behavior in the scenes is autonomous decision-making.
In the rescue scene, the dummy appears to have suffered even without the car. Unitree, meanwhile, asks users to operate the robot safely and in a friendly manner.
Why it matters
AnalysisThe clip highlights how humanoid-robot makers use cinematic demos to sell the idea of autonomous assistants, while real-world autonomy, load capacity and AI decision-making remain poorly documented.
