Google’s Genie 4 adds audio, character conversations and on-the-fly text scene editing to interactive worlds, while Gemini 3.8 Flash coordinates complex events.

Google introduces Genie 4

Sound and dialogue have been added to interactive worlds. Characters can talk and react to events, while scenes can be changed with text in real time. Compared with Genie 3, Google promises noticeably more lively humans and more plausible physics.

For complex events, Gemini 3.8 Flash is connected. It breaks a task into steps, reviews generated frames and checks the result. If the scene changes, it adjusts the plan.

The feature is currently available in a closed preview for testers. Later, access is promised to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and to partners with early access in the Gemini API and AI Studio. Pricing and timelines have not been announced.

Why it matters

Analysis

Genie 4 moves interactive media closer to full simulations, where characters and physics respond to user actions. It could affect games, education, virtual worlds and generative AI tools.
