Scandal Surrounding Kemi Clark: The Mysterious Figure of Anthropic
The WSJ has released a scandalous article about Kemi Clark, the wife of Dario Amodei. Journalists hint that she might be a real "power behind the throne" at Anthropic: allegedly, she is constantly negotiating with investors, attending all key meetings, and participating in decision-making.
However, very little is known about her. Neither Google nor even Claude can accurately say who she is. Journalists claim that materials about her have been deliberately removed.
This may be related to her past. About 10 years ago, she allegedly asked Jeffrey Epstein, who had already been convicted once, to invest in her startup.
Around the same time, she met with Google CEO Eric Schmidt. Later, he became one of the first investors in Anthropic. It is claimed that Clark introduced him to Amodei.
To this day, she holds no formal position at the startup. Reports suggest that at one point she attempted to create her own fund within the company called "Mother of AGI Fund," but it came to nothing.
The article is quite critical. Interestingly, it was published just as the company is preparing for its IPO.
Why it matters
AnalysisThis information is crucial as it highlights the opacity of management structures in large tech companies like Anthropic, which could impact investor trust ahead of the IPO.
