Runway Solaris: A Next-Generation Generative Interface
Runway Solaris: A Next-Generation Generative Interface
Runway has introduced Solaris, a new generative interface that creates interactive elements in video format. This technology promises new possibilities for user interaction.
Runway Solaris: A Next-Generation Generative Interface
Runway has unveiled Solaris, the first Interface World Model. Instead of HTML and DOM, the system generates an interactive interface as a continuous video in 720p. The LLM is responsible for reasoning, while the adapted Gen-4.5 renders responses to user actions in real time.
In its own research, Runway involved 250 participants and around 7500 pairwise comparisons. Solaris was preferred over Claude Opus 5 in 61% of cases for instruction adherence and in 71% for naturalness of behavior. However, this is an internal test, not an independent benchmark. Currently, the project is available only to early partners, with limitations including text (lol), long sessions, result reliability, and interface availability. Nevertheless, the demo is intriguing, and something may come of it.
