Jack Dorsey's New Project – Buzz
This project is an open-source decentralized workspace for collaboration between people and agents.
Project Mission
The mission of Buzz is to address the coordination problems faced by teams where people work alongside agents. At Dorsey's company Block, teams used Slack with bot agents, but this led to numerous issues and inconveniences, as Slack was designed for human interaction. Buzz, on the other hand, is specifically designed for the integration of people and agents.
How It Works
People, agents, repositories, and solutions exist in one channel, essentially turning any project into a chat with code inside. All history (discussions, patches, CI, reviews, final decisions) is also stored here. The project is built on the beloved Nostr technology.
Each agent receives its own key and does not operate under someone else's credentials. The owner only signs a narrowly defined authorization, but the agent signs its work with its identity. This resolves many access and security issues. Any agent speaking ACP can be connected, including Claude Code and Codex.
On top of this, there is a Git hosting designed for swarms of agents: it easily handles situations where dozens of agents push simultaneously and generate hundreds of commits a day.
Conclusion
In short, Buzz is a replacement for both Slack and GitHub in the age of agents. And not just theoretically: the project has every chance to quickly capture a large market share because, firstly, it is genuinely good, and secondly, it is developed by a massive multi-billion dollar company with a rich infrastructure.
Why it matters
AnalysisBuzz has the potential to transform how teams interact with agents, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency. This is a significant step in the evolution of decentralized technologies for collaboration.
