Anthropic Updates Claude Fable 5's Biological Safeguards

Anthropic has updated the biological safeguards of Claude Fable 5 to reduce the number of false positives. Following the update, the failure rate for biology-related queries has decreased by approximately 85% across all of the company's products.
Queries that Anthropic considers dual-use tasks, including virology, toxicology, and molecular design, will still be automatically routed to Opus 5. As a result, Fable 5 is still not suitable for professional biological research and drug development.
However, when asked where babies come from, Claude Fable 5 still refuses to answer.
Why it matters
AnalysisThis update is significant as it reduces the number of false positives in the system, enhancing its reliability. However, the limitations for professional research indicate a need for further development of the technology.
