Anthropic Enhances Streaming Output in Claude for Web and Desktop

Anthropic has completely revamped the streaming output in Claude for web and desktop.

Long responses are now displayed about 4 times smoother.

Instead of constantly redrawing the entire response, the interface updates only the part that actually changes.

On weaker laptops, this reduces the number of freezes by up to 9 times, while on a MacBook with a 120 Hz display, Claude can maintain 120 frames per second throughout the entire long response.

In a demonstration, CPU load dropped from about 48% to 16%.

At the same time, the model itself did not start generating tokens faster. Anthropic has simply radically accelerated how the interface displays already generated text.

Why it matters

Analysis

These improvements significantly enhance the efficiency of working with Claude, making it more user-friendly. The reduction in CPU load can also positively impact the performance of other applications.
