Executive TL;DR30s read

Awesome-REA on GitHub gathers more than 1000 reverse-engineering materials, including practical cases, research papers, and AI-assisted tooling.

The Awesome-REA repository on GitHub brings together a library of reverse-engineering materials — Awesome-REA — with more than 1000 resources for learning and analyzing software.

It contains 1196 curated resources, 424 practical cases, and 207 research papers. Everything is organized into six areas: websites, games, applications, binary files, firmware, and protocols.

The library includes tools for JavaScript deobfuscation, game decompilation walkthroughs, vulnerability research, and much more. A separate section covers reverse engineering with AI, collecting MCP servers that connect decompilation tools to AI agents, including JADX-AI-MCP and apktool-mcp-server.

The entire catalog is also available through llms.txt and a JSON API, making it usable as a knowledge base for AI systems.

Why it matters

Analysis

Awesome-REA saves time for security researchers and developers by consolidating scattered reverse-engineering materials into one structured resource. Its MCP servers and machine-readable catalog also make it easier to integrate AI agents into analysis workflows.
