Claude Code desktop gets better with parallel sessions and saved environments
The updated Claude Code desktop app can run parallel tasks in separate sub-sessions, keep the main chat clean, and save folders, SSH servers, or cloud environments for direct sessions.
Claude Code desktop gets better with parallel sessions and saved environments 🎉
When you assign Claude several parallel tasks, it creates a separate sub-session for each one. Once they finish, the results are returned to the main session, keeping the primary chat clean.
You can save a folder, an SSH server, or a cloud environment as a separate environment and run sessions directly inside it. If desired, each folder can use its own worktree.
While Claude works, it proactively suggests additional tasks that can be launched in separate sessions with one click.
The left sidebar shows at a glance which sessions are running and which ones need your input.
Why it matters
AnalysisThis matters because parallel sub-sessions reduce chat clutter and let developers work across multiple contexts without losing focus. Saved environments and worktrees simplify switching between local, remote, and cloud workflows.
