OpenAI Launches GPT-6 Sol and Luna: Cheaper, Better Performance, and New Subscriber Perks

OpenAI has released GPT-6 Sol and Luna, offering improved performance over version 5.6 at half the cost, with significant price cuts for Luna.
OpenAI has introduced the latest iterations of its AI model lineup: GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna. According to the company, these new models outperform the previous 5.6 version while being twice as affordable and consuming fewer Codex limits.
Pricing Updates
- GPT-6 Sol: Now priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. This pricing matches that of Sonnet, positioning Sol as a highly competitive option in the market.
- GPT-6 Luna: The price has been drastically reduced to $0.1/$0.5 per million tokens. Compared to the original 5.6 Luna, this represents a 10x price drop, making it an ideal choice for high-volume tasks and budget-conscious integrations.
New Features for Subscribers
In addition to technical improvements, OpenAI has rolled out the banked reset feature for paid subscribers. This allows users to accumulate unused limits and manage their usage more flexibly, ensuring they don't lose out on available resources.
