Nvidia Acquires Poolside for $6 Billion
Nvidia has struck a deal with Poolside, a well-known neolab recognized for its Laguna model series. The agreement involves Nvidia paying $6 billion for licensing the company's technologies, which will then be paid out to investors.
The main prize of the deal is the 109 Poolside employees who have received offers to transition to Nvidia. They are likely to work on the development of the new model, Nemotron.
After the majority of employees transition, all co-founders will remain in the company, and Poolside will receive $1 billion in investments from Nvidia. This will likely allow the company, which plans to build a gigawatt data center, to requalify as a neocloud.
