Herdr: A New Orchestrator for AI Agents
Herdr is a new orchestrator for AI agents that allows for convenient management of their operations in real-time.
This week, I found perhaps the best orchestrator for AI agents. It's called Herdr and essentially acts like tmux that understands what the agents are doing.
You can launch Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode in separate panels, while the sidebar shows in real-time which agent is currently working, which has finished, and which is blocked waiting for your input.
Additionally, you can close the terminal, and the agents will continue to work. This means it supports a detach mode. You can then reconnect via SSH from anywhere, even from your phone.
All of this is packed into a single binary written in Rust: fast, lightweight, cross-platform, and with open source code. It works in any terminal and supports configuration and plugins to extend its capabilities.
Why it matters
AnalysisHerdr simplifies the management of AI agents, enabling developers to utilize them more effectively in their projects.
