DeepSeek Changes API Pricing
DeepSeek has announced that starting August 23, the pricing rules for peak and off-peak hours will be changed.
On Saturdays and Sundays, peak and off-peak periods will be completely eliminated, and a single pricing structure will apply all day at off-peak rates.
In other words, you will no longer have to time your API usage on weekends to fit into off-peak hours. Tasks that consume a lot of tokens, such as batch jobs, agents, or data generation, can simply be moved to the weekends.
The new rules will officially take effect at midnight on August 23, and expenses incurred before this time will still be calculated under the old rules.
On weekdays, the division into peak and off-peak periods will still apply.
Why it matters
AnalysisThese changes in pricing can significantly reduce costs for API users utilizing it on weekends, allowing for more efficient resource planning.
