AlphaXiv Releases OpenResearch: An Orchestrator Turning AI Agents into Autonomous Researchers
AlphaXiv has launched OpenResearch, an open-source orchestrator that adapts coding agents like Claude Code and Codex for autonomous scientific research and hypothesis testing.
The OpenResearch project by AlphaXiv recently took the #1 spot in GitHub's trending rankings.

Essentially, this is a local workspace that "reprograms" tools like Claude Code, Open Code, or Codex for R&D tasks: reading scientific literature, proposal and hypothesis testing cycles, running experiments, and producing artifacts.
The interface supports parallel experiments, meaning agents can run multiple hypothesis checks simultaneously. Results are stored in a git-native experiment tree with immutable commit archives, ensuring full reproducibility.
It is available for download under any OS.
