Alibaba Officially Announces Qwen4 Model Family

Alibaba announced the upcoming Qwen4 family of AI models and unveiled the Zhenwu V900 chip, which is claimed to be three times more powerful than its predecessor.
At the opening of the Cloud Intelligence Conference 2026, the new head of the LLM direction at Qwen, Liu Daiheng, officially announced the upcoming Qwen4 family of models.
The family will include:
- Qwen4-Max
- Qwen4-Flash
- Qwen4-Plus
- Qwen4-27B
In the future, Qwen intends to move towards training models with a scale of 5–10 trillion parameters.
In parallel, Alibaba presented the Zhenwu V900 AI chip, which, according to the company, is three times more powerful than the previous generation. Based on this chip, they plan to build clusters of up to 500,000 accelerators, and by 2032, the capacity of Alibaba's data centers is expected to grow to 20 GW.
