Google proves AI data centers can operate in space

The first satellite in the Suncatcher project, developed together with Planet and launched on a SpaceX rocket, is equipped with four TPUs.

During the test, Google sent a request from Earth. The TPU in orbit performed inference for the Gemma model, and the response was transmitted back to Earth, confirming the technology works.

At the end of 2027, SpaceX plans to launch StarMind satellites with NVIDIA GPUs aboard Starship.

A Type II civilization on the Kardashev scale is getting closer.
